At CMDHB we call our employee career development “growing our own”. As a part of our team, we’d support your growth by providing organisational, team and individual development through internal and external courses. We’ll also offer a range of communications and managing diversity programmes:

• Leadership programmes
• Workplace coaching for managers and leaders

For independent guidance and support in managing your career, all you’d have to do is access our in-house Career Development programme and Career Development Consultant - a free service available to all staff.

Career development is all about making decisions; achieving goals; knowing what gives you job satisfaction and getting the most out of your work. You’ll be presented with many opportunities open at CMDHB, and there are people available to support you at any stage of your journey including professional leaders, educators, managers and Human Resource personnel.

All staff can update their clinical skills at the Clinical Training and Education Centre (CTEC) located at Middlemore Hospital. Staff enjoy the hands on learning that CTEC offers with experienced tutors, and the latest in simulation and clinical equipment.

There are various scholarships available in support of your work-related training and study.
